ABOUT JULIAN

Julian currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of St. HOPE. Julian began his career in the private sector in General Electric’s Financial Management Program where he had the opportunity hold a variety of financial analyst roles across 3 different business units and learn accounting, finance and strategy concepts directly from GE CFO’s. He then accepted a management consulting role with Ernst & Young’s Finance Transformation practice where he focused on finance process improvement, ERP implementations and business development.

After gaining extensive experience in Finance, Operations and Information Technology in the private sector Julian decided to change trajectory and pursue his passion for education and honest politics, so he accepted a role with Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE).

As LEE’s Director of Strategy Julian focused on financial management, performance management, member outreach and crafting the social media marketing campaign strategy. After spending 10 years on the east coast Julian decided it was time to pursue the work he is so passionate about back home in Sacramento which lead him to St. HOPE. Over the course of the last year Julian has transformed St. HOPE’s Finance function through the implementation of NetSuite ERP and Payroll, finance process redesign and hiring a completely new team. Over the next 6 months Julian will oversee the implementation of Suite People, lead the merger of St. HOPE’s three entities (St. HOPE Public Schools, St. HOPE Academy and St. HOPE Development company) and will begin to focus on driving profitable growth and job creation within St. HOPE’s economic development efforts.

Julian earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and is a 2018 Masters of Public Administration candidate at the University of Southern California.
