Joseph W. Daniels, III is an enthusiastic scholar, leader, and mentor, advancing through academia and advocating the importance of education. Joseph is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He was awarded the 2013 Namaskar Award for engineering excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. Joseph is currently pursuing a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in civil engineering at the University of Arkansas.

He is the current president of the Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) at the University of Arkansas. He also serves as the Communications Chairperson for the Northwest Arkansas Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Joseph has a history of strong leadership and community involvement with his affiliations in the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and a host of others.

Joseph enjoys time with family, running, playing and watching sports, and reading African American literature. He is a native of Silver Spring, Maryland and currently resides in Northwest Arkansas.
